Banna Gupta inducts Usha Singh as member of the Physiotherapy Council

Jamshedpur, April 5: A 12-member committee has been constituted in the state by Health and Disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta to organize physiotherapy treatment under Jharkhand Government’s Physiotherapy Council Act, 2020.

Usha Singh who is associated with several political and social organizations is the only representative from East Singhbhum in the 12 member physiotherapy council. Among others, Usha is also the Secretary of Lavanya Grih Nirman Swavalambi Cooperative Society. In a press communiqué on Tuesday, Usha Singh expressed her gratitude to Jharkhand Minister Banna Gupta and the state government for giving her an opportunity to work among the people. 

In her press release, Usha Singh stated that in view of her long experience in the fields of social service and political activity, she had been nominated by Jharkhand Health and Disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta in the 12 member physiotherapy board of the state and assured of discharging her responsibilities in a manner that this therapy could be made available and accessible to all. She stated that with mounting stress and hectic life in present day trends, many health issues were coming up that could be cured by physiotherapy. According to Usha Singh pointed out that there was a sudden spurt in the number of physiotherapists with untrained ones among them also treating people and this could create more harm than good for people with ailments born out of mental stress. She strongly advocated that physiotherapists should have their registrations and those without registration should be meted out strict legal action. It may be mentioned that Usha Singh, among others, is the state General Secretary of Congress, National Working President of International Human Rights Association and Brand Ambassador India IHRA.
