Ranchi, Nov 18: Senior Congress leader Banna Gupta is on a campaign tour for the second phase of elections, covering Ramgarh, Jharia, Dhanbad and Madhupur. As part of this tour, Banna Gupta, a star campaigner of the INDI Alliance, reached Madhupur to gather support for Hafizul Hassan.
Through various meetings, Gupta urged voters to back Hassan describing him as a representative who had significantly contributed to the region’s development. He highlighted Hassan’s achievements including the reconstruction and widening of roads connecting villages to the city, the establishment of a women’s college and a sports stadium in Madhupur.
The construction of a degree college in the backward Margomunda block was also cited as one of Hassan’s major accomplishments, which helped transform the area through infrastructure improvements.
“This election is a battle between two ideologies. On one side, we have those who spread hatred and religious tension, backed by the BJP and on the other, the INDI Alliance, which stands for education, employment, development, unity and the Constitution,” Banna Gupta said during a meeting in Madhupur.
Addressing a gathering of the Vaishya community in Madhupur, Gupta emphasized that the INDI Alliance had always respected and supported the backward classes. “It is our duty to ensure a landslide victory for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate, Hafizul Hassan,” he said. Gupta highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts under Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s leadership to link every woman in the state with the Maiya Yojna, a welfare scheme. Key figures like Sonu Gupta, Arvind Yadav, Mohammed Hasnain, Uttam Shah, Baljivan Shah, Jayshankar Shah and Dr. Anup Kumar were present at the meeting
