Jamshedpur, October 2: Social organization Bang Bandhu hosted the ‘Prati-Maa Upohaar,’ program for elderly mothers from the city’s old age homes at The Milanee Hall in Bistupur in celebration of Mahalaya day. The event was graced by social workers Anjali Bose, Shanti Ghosh, Tarun Dey, and several others.
The program commenced with the lighting of lamps, blowing of conch shells and playing of Dhak. Bang Bandhu President Aparna Guha delivered the welcome address. The event featured captivating dance performances by Anushka, Diya, and others. Song renditions by Shukla Banerjee and a team led by Pratap Banerjee and Purabi Chatterjee followed.
Gifts, including new clothes and food items, were distributed to 30 elderly mothers. The event was conducted by Babulal Chakraborty, with Subhash Singha Roy delivering the vote of thanks.
