Jamshedpur, Dec 8: Mahanagar BJP has termed the Bharat Bandh a flop show. The BJP Mahanagar president Gunjan Yadav in a press statement termed the bandh a total failure as it did not evoke any response from either the farmers or the citizens in general. He accused JMM, Congress and other grand alliance partners of being opportunists who changed colours at the drop of a hat. “It has been their trait to fan their political aspirations on the dying embers of hope of the deprived farmers. The state government helmed by Hemant Soren by supporting the farmers’ bandh call is sobbing cynical tears while going against their interests. The government has put a halt on its purchase of paddy from farmers. After scrapping the Mukhiya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna the government is putting on a show of sympathy towards the farmers. The farmers and people in general are not fools. They can very well see through the nefarious designs of the grand alliance.”
In his observations, the Mahanagar BJP spokesman Prem Jha said that nowhere in the state were farmers seen out on the streets in support of the Bharat Bandh called in protest against the implementation of the Farm Bills but all one got to see were JMM and Congress leaders vainly trying to urge people to shut their shops and markets. He remarked, “The Congress seem worried with the Farm Bills but not th farmers. The uncouth manner in which the members of the state ruling combine went about at the Sakchi Market and elsewhere in the state is not good for the health of a democracy. Their actions can never be accepted.”
