Bagbera residents stage dharna

Jamshedpur: The residents of 11 bastis of Bagbera staged dharna at Shankh Baba Mazar on Monday under the banner of Bagbera Vikas Samiti to demand laying of pipeline in the local slums. They demanded no objection certificate (NOC) from the railways so that the agencies concerned could carry out the work of laying of pipeline. They said a survey of the local bastis should also be conducted before the pipeline laying work begins. The agitators were led by the outfit president Ganesh Vishwakarma. They said they would be handing over a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Raghubar Das to the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum, Amit Kumar, in support of their demand.
The various slums where the drinking water pipeline is to be laid include Bagbera Naya Basti, Babakuti, Bajrang Tekri, Anandnagar, Shyam Nagar, Gandhinagar, Ramnagar, Postonagar, Garabasa, Kitadih Gwala Patti, Sanjaynagar and Gariwan Patti.
