Ranchi, April 23: BJP State President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi strongly denounced the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, offering heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Addressing the media, Marandi described the incident as horrifying, noting that terrorists reportedly identified victims by religion, stripped them, and forced them to recite religious verses before killing them.
He asserted that such barbaric acts would not be tolerated under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and promised that the culprits would be brought to justice.
Raising concern about rising extremism, Marandi warned that similar radical mindsets existed within Jharkhand. He criticized certain ministers in the state government, accusing them of placing Sharia law above the Indian Constitution. Marandi emphasized that those promoting such divisive rhetoric should be immediately removed from the cabinet, stating, “Violence has no place in democracy.”
He also pointed out that while these individuals might not be using weapons, their provocative statements were equally dangerous. The press conference was also attended by BJP leaders Ramakant Mahato, Vijay Chaurasia, Misfika Hasan, and Yogendra Pratap Singh.
