Babulal Marandi accuses Hemant Soren of violating CNT Act

Podaiyahat: BJP state president Babulal Marandi during Parivartan Yatra in Podaiyahat on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren accusing him of violating the Chotanagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act.

Marandi alleged that despite having an Adivasi chief minister, the lands and rights of tribals in Jharkhand have been exploited the most under his leadership.

The BJP state president said, “The Soren government has been involved in a Rs 1,000 crore mining scam and even encroached upon army lands.”

Marandi expressed concern over the declining Adivasi population in the state.

The BJP state president citing statistics showing that the tribal population in Jharkhand has dropped from 36% in 1951 to 26%, and in Santhal Pargana from 44% to 28%.

He further blamed Bangladeshi infiltrators for changing the demographic profile of the state and vowed that a BJP government would expel them.

Highlighting the CNT Act violations, Marandi accused Soren of illegally selling tribal land by manipulating land records. He assured that under a BJP government, officials would visit villages to correct land documents and any corruption would result in those officials being jailed.

Marandi also criticized the Chief Minister’s “Maa Niyaya Samman Yojana,” calling it an election tactic. He argued that BJP-led states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha are already providing direct benefits to women and promised that a BJP government in Jharkhand would do the same with genuine intent.
