Jamshedpur: City police on Wednesday failed to catch hold of Babar Khan, accused of the recently riot on roads at Mango, who participated in a public event organized by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on Wednesday.
Sources said a team of city police officials led by DSP of Patamada and the officer in-charge of Olidih PS conducted surprise visit to Dhalbhum Club at Sakchi where former Chief Minister and leader of the Opposition Hemant Soren was present to attend a party programme.
Before police officials could lay their hands on Babar Khan, he was long gone from the spot, sources said.
Cops said they had got a tip-off about Babar being present during JMM�s programme. The hoardings and banners put up by the party too, carried the photos and name of Babar Khan, leading the cops to leave for the programme venue.
