A B Lall new CII Jharkhand chairman, Abhijit Ghosh elected vice-chairman

Jamshedpur, March 7: The annual day of CII Jharkhand was held at the Beldih Club, Jamshedpur, on Monday with a session on “Build Jharkhand: Invest in Development.”

Election result for CII Jharkhand state council 2016-17 was also declared on the occasion.

A B Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors Ltd, Jamshedpur, is the new chairman of CII Jharkhand State Council, while Avijit Ghosh, chairman and managing director, Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) is the new vice-chairman of the industry body.

Discussion on various initiatives and benefits for the industry including policy initiatives by the state government to attract new investment in Jharkhand were part of the agenda of the session.

R Adm (Rtd.) A K Verma, Chairman, CII Eastern Region and chairman and managing director, GRSE Ltd, said the state of Jharkhand, widely acclaimed in the eastern region with great industrial future, has enormous potential for industrialization and the Government of Jharkhand has always endeavored to set up the right kind of business climate in order to attract significant investments into the state.

T V Narendran, vice-chairman, CII Eastern Region and Managing Director, Tata Steel Ltd, said that “Jharkhand Investor Summit” at ‘Make in India Week’ in Mumbai proved that Jharkhand is moving fast towards reaching its target of better infrastructure, faster development and establishment of industrial base which would create employment opportunities for millions of youth in the state.

Tarun Daga, immediate past chairman CII Jharkhand and MD, Tinplate Company of India Ltd, mentioned that Jharkhand faces an exciting period with the opportunity to make the State progressive and solidify its position in the arena of development based on a long-term multi-variable approach with impetus on key sectors, namely, IT, food processing, healthcare, education, skill development, agriculture, tourism, MSME and infrastructure besides others.

A B Lall said that Next wave of development definitely lies in Jharkhand. A collective effort can bring in a change, while Avijit Ghosh said that the public sector unit in this country has been expanding day by day. In the upcoming years, this public sector has got a good prospect in India as contributed by the different sectors included in it.

With such a notable contribution the growth and development of the public sector unit it surely will go long way in ensuring industrial development in the state.
