Jamshedpur, Sept 16: Festive spirit, glee and the ‘booster shouts’ during the competitive events at the Azionare Fest organized by Loyola School on Saturday, September 16 were the ingredients of an exciting event wrought by 410 enthusiastic students of Classes 8 to 12 from 12 prominent city schools.
The excitement of Azionare comprised 12 on and off line events. Incidentally, ‘Azionare,’ an Italian term, meaning to activate aims, was an apt title to a classic event that provided a platform to youngsters for facing challenges beyond boundaries. This year, the fest was themed on Indian History with SDGs of the UN goals.
The chief guest at the inaugural of Azionare was the Director of ERC, Fr V Kurivilla, SJ who was felicitated by Loyola School Rector, Fr KM Joseph, SJ. The welcome address was delivered by Fr. Vinod Fernandes, SJ. Fr Kuruvilla declared the Azionare Fest open.
An array of exciting and innovative competitions were organized with the aim of developing talents and instilling confidence in students. The competitions included Ateet (B/ W Photography), Tarksidh Sangram (Maths), Manochitra Manthan ( canvas painting), Aalokik Kalam ( creative writing), Udyanee (entrepreneurship) and Kurukshetra(Gaming). On stage events included T.P.SQ ( General Science Quiz), Battle of Minds ( General Quiz),Natyanjali (Dance), Lakshya ( Band ), Drishtikon ( Ramp) and Hasya Kshanika ( Hindi Satire).
The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was District Education Officer, Nirmala Kumari Barelia who gave away the prizes. Little Flower School was declared the Overall Champions of Azionare 2023, winning most of the on and off stage events. The school winning the Runners – Up trophy was Carmel Junior College.
Sacred Heart Convent School won the coveted Thomas Paul Science Quiz .This quiz started 30 years back in memory of the Science Teacher of Loyola School, Sir Paul Thomas.
The Most Disciplined School Award was bagged by Rajendra Vidyalaya, the most Innovative School being Sacred Heart Convent and the Rising Star Award went to Loyola School, Telco .
Nirmal Kumari Barelia congratulated all the participating teams and remarked, “This event is an opportunity for you all to showcase your ingenuity, intellect and potentials and at the same time inspire others.”
Jayanthi Sheshadri, Vice- Principal, proposed the vote of thanks. Azionare concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
