Awareness program on domestic violence

Jamshedpur, Sept. 29: Inner wheel club of Jamshedpur East organised an awareness program on domestic violence among the young girls, women and widowed old women of Khapcha Dungri village. 

Issues related to violence at home were discussed in detail. Speaker informed about the prevalent sexual, mental, physical and economic violence.

They were also informed about the support of the Prevention of domestic violence act 2005. Ira Bandhopadhyay and Club president Rama Khanna motivated them to have confidence to deal with the domestic violence issues and speak up. About 35 women, girls, ladies and club members were present. Club members also donated rice, daal and other food items to widowed women.
