Jamshedpur, Jan 28: Police arrested an auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Aftab Manzar Alam, with a country-made pistol from Bistupur on Tuesday.
Police officials said the accused was caught with
arms during anti-crime checking on Bistupur-Sakchi route. Alam is a driver of
Sakchi auto-rickshaw stand.
Many auto-rickshaw drivers reached Bistupur police station to protest Alam�s
arresting. They claimed that another auto-rickshaw driver, Ibrahim, had
conspired to get Alam arrested. Police officials said an investigation was on
to find out the source of gun and motive of the accused.
