Jamshedpur, Jan 28: A delegation of Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP leaders met East Singhbhum deputy commissioner (DC) Ravi Shankar Shukla on Tuesday to demand action against Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy for allegedly flouting norms by organizing picnic at Ghorabandha Theme Park.
In the petition handed to the DC, the BJP leaders alleged that Roy had flouted forest rules by organizing picnic of his newly-floated party Bharatiya Jan Morcha at the Theme Park.
The BJP leaders said use of stove and flammable materials at the Theme Park was prohibited. They said the district administration had taken no action against Roy and his supporters.
The district administration should not turn a blind eye to the activities of Roys supporters. It is time the administration took stringent and exemplary action against them, said senior party leader Rambabu Tiwary.
The BJP leaders further alleged that Roys supporters were threatening those running various community buildings in his constituency of dire consequences. Incidents of violence were also reported at some places, they said.
The BJP leaders said Roys supporters were vandalizing various public utilities built by former CM Raghubar Das. They said criminal activities had increased in the constituency after Roy won election.
