Attack on Akhilesh Singh: Police produce Honey Singh at court

Jamshedpur : The police on Monday produced Honey Singh and a close aide of Sarabjit before the judicial magistrate court. The police prayed the court for taking Honey, who was also caught by Akhilesh’s friends soon after attack bid to 10 days police remand.

Officer-in-charge, Sitaramdera police station, Shushil Kumar said that the probe is on. It is very important for us to take Honey Singh on remand as we want to get the mystery behind the attack so that we may find out the real culprit involved in the case,” the officer-in-charge said.

Significantly, the CCTV footage derived from the court complex showed that Honey Singh who is above 6 feet had come to the court complex much before Akhilesh Singh had come.

Honey Singh had entered into the court complex carrying a bag and kept on waiting inside. Akhilesh Singh had arrived into the court complex along with his supporters at 11.8 am for his surrender. As Akhilesh too came to the second floor, Honey had mixed up with the crowd of the gangster’s supporters,” said a senior police officer.
Meanwhile, the condition of Sarabjit continues to be critical said the medical sources at the Tata Main Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Singh was arrested at Noida in Uttar Pradesh by a joint team of UP and Jharkhand police in 2011. He was nabbed while he was coming out of a shopping mall. Notably, the arrest of Akhilesh Singh had become a challenge for the police and administration. which had declared a reward of Rs 2 lakh on the head of the fugitive.

Son of Chandragupt Singh, former general secretary of Jharkhand Police Association, Akhilesh set up a network extortionists and shooters. The 34-year-old don stepped into the crime world by abducting the mobil merchant Om Prakash Kabra on July 21, 2001.

After his name figured in the Kabra abduction case, he had surrendered in the court on August 6, 2001. He fled the judicial custody on February 18, 2002. He was arrested from Varanasi on October 7, 2004. On September 2, 2007, he was granted a parole for attending his ailing mother. Since then he was absconding.
