Jamshedpur: BJP leader and founder of Shiksha Satyagraha, Ankit Anand, has accused the management of Little Flower School in Telco of illegally collecting ₹12,000 from parents under the guise of a “Building Fund” and subsequently forcing them to sign “consent forms” to legitimize the payment.
Anand has petitioned high-ranking officials, including the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the Jharkhand DGP, and the District Commissioner, demanding an immediate FIR and a comprehensive 10-year financial audit of the institution.
According to the allegations, the school management devised this “consent form” strategy to circumvent a recent prohibitory notice issued by the District Education Department. The school reportedly summoned parents and pressured them into signing documents that falsely claim they contributed the money voluntarily; an act Anand describes as a blatant violation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.
Key Demands for Accountability
In his formal complaint, Anand highlighted that “consent obtained through fear and pressure holds no legal validity.” He is calling for several corrective measures:
- Invalidation of Forms: Declaring all signatures obtained under pressure as legally null and void.
- Full Refunds: Ensuring the school returns the allegedly extorted funds to every affected parent.
- High-Level Probe: A thorough investigation into how the school provided “misleading information” to the education department.
Anand warned that if the administration fails to act, it will establish a “dangerous precedent” allowing private schools to flout government regulations at will.
