Loyola School student aims to become a Grandmaster
Jamshedpur, April 1: Steel City’s upcoming chess prodigy is an internationally-rated chess player now.
Reyansh Jagnani, a class III student of Loyola School, Jamshedpur has joined the coveted club of players with the International FIDE rating
9-year-old Reyansh’s current rating is 1237 and his FIDE ID is 33376085. This will help him achieve better rating in the future.
Reyansh has been training under Chandan Kumar Prasad, Head Chess Coach at Chandan Chess Academy. Just nine months into training, Reyansh, with 1237 rating has joined the coveted club of players with the International FIDE rating and wants to become Chess Grand Master.
“My dream is to become a Grand Master,” said Reyansh who lives in Aashiana Gardens, Sonari.

His father Gaurav Jagnani is a Chartered Accountant and Mother Neha Jagnani is practicing Company Secretary.
“I love to play chess and am trying to improve my game under my mentor, Chandan Kumar Prasad,” added Reyansh.
His coach Chandan Kumar Prasad who is also an International FIDE arbiter says Reyansh is a level-headed boy. “He has natural ability also very keen on learning and works hard on his moves. Reyansh has all the qualities of a chess champ. He is a boy to watch out for,” added Chandan.
His coach further said that Reyansh’s best quality is he never skips his training classes and is very hard working.
Recently, Reyansh claimed 1st Position in Math Olympiad Zonal and Regional Level 1 and 2nd position in International Olympiad Level 2.
He also bagged first position in Chess Under 10 Boys “Green Sky Trophy” held September 2022. Reyansh also claimed 39th Position in National School Under-9 Open Chess Championship 2022, at KIIT, Orissa.
