Asst teacher dies after health deteriorate during poll duty in Jharkhand’s Rajmahal

Ranchi, June 3: Assistant teacher Dinesh Ravidas (48 years) of Utkramit Prathmik Vidyalaya Dholbazza, who was working as a polling worker in Rajmahal Lok Sabha elections of Jharkhand, died while being taken to Ranchi for treatment.

His health deteriorated during the polling duty itself. After this, he was being treated in the hospital. Suddenly his health deteriorated, so he was referred to Ranchi. While coming in an ambulance, he died on the way in Jamtara. Teachers have expressed grief over his death.

According to the information received, the polling work for Rajmahal Lok Sabha elections in Sahibganj was completed on June 1. In this, assistant teacher Dinesh Ravidas of Utkramit Prathmik Vidyalaya Dholbazza was deployed in election work. He was working as a polling worker at polling station number-83, Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Bariyarpur of Barhet assembly constituency. His health deteriorated during the voting itself. After this, the health department team admitted him to the Primary Health Center, Damruhat (Sundarpahari) of Godda district by ambulance, where he was undergoing treatment.

Suddenly on Sunday, Dinesh Ravidas’s health deteriorated. Seeing this, the treating doctor referred him to Ranchi. After that he was being taken to Ranchi by ambulance. Then he died near Jamtara. After this, he was brought to Godda by his family, where his post-mortem was done on Monday. After that the body was handed over to the family.

The deceased was working as a teacher since 2006. Block President of Jharkhand State Assistant Teachers Association Prakash Bhan Rai and other members have expressed grief over his death. The deceased has left behind his wife, four daughters and a son. The body was brought to his native village Gangatia of Rajmahal block at around 3 pm on Monday. After this, his last rites will be performed.
