Seraikela, Jan 9: A team of state assembly environment and pollution control committee led by Ichagarh MLA Sabita Mahato today reviewed the status of environment and pollution issues in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district at Seraikela Circuit House on Saturday.
The meeting which was attended by Seraikela-Kharsawan deputy commission Iqbal Alam Ansari and SP Mohammed Arshi discussed pollution complaints pending with various government departments.
According to Sisai MLA Jigga Munda, with the change in government the committees are determined to play a role to fill the aspiration of the people and they will be discussion in detail every issues including illegal sand lifting, pollution, drinking water issues and illegal mining and information on status of complaint would be sought from heads of all departments and also Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board regional officer.
The drinking water and sanitation department officials faced resentment from the committee members for delay in completion of the drinking water project in Chandil and sought a timeframe for completion of the project.
Other members of the committee include, Mandar MLA, Bandhu Tirkey and Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar.
