Assault case registered after intruders attack woman at Jamshedpur home

Jamshedpur: A case has been registered at the Birsanagar police station after a woman alleged that a group of people forcibly entered her house and assaulted her in Zone No. 3B under the Birsa nagar police station area.

According to police, the FIR was lodged on the basis of a written complaint submitted by the victim, Jayanti Karua, a resident of Birsanagar Zone No. 3B.

In her statement, she named four accused—Bharti, Reena Nad, Pooja and Nirupa Rai alias Karua alias Gagrai—along with one unidentified person.

The complainant alleged that the incident occurred on December 16 at around 12 noon, when she was alone at home.

The accused reportedly arrived together, forcibly entered her house, abused her verbally and assaulted her when she objected.

She sustained injuries during the attack.
Hearing her cries, local residents gathered at the spot, following which the accused fled.

The victim stated that she was mentally disturbed after the incident and later approached the police after consulting her family members and acquaintances.

The matter was reported to the police on December 20.
Police officials said a case has been registered under relevant sections of law and an investigation is underway.

Efforts are being made to ascertain the motive behind the attack and to verify whether any prior dispute existed between the parties.

The police have assured the victim of a fair probe and said that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
