Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to visit Jamshedpur for BJP Damage Control, Amarpreet Singh Kale likely to rejoin party

Jamshedpur, October 23: Assam Chief Minister and BJP’s state election co-in-charge, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is visiting Jamshedpur on Thursday to address internal party issues. His visit is aimed at damage control, as he plans to meet with key BJP leaders and resolve ongoing protests and unrest within the party.

Sarma is scheduled to hold discussions with Janata Dal United (JDU) candidate and MLA Saryu Rai, who is contesting from Jamshedpur West, and will also work to calm the situation in Jamshedpur East, where tensions have been rising ahead of the elections.

In addition, Sarma is expected to meet former BJP state spokesperson Amarpreet Singh Kale, who, according to sources, is likely to rejoin the BJP. Although no formal announcement has been made, it is believed that Kale’s return to the party is part of BJP’s strategy to win over dissenting voters in Jamshedpur East, where Purnima Das Sahu, daughter-in-law of Odisha Governor and ex-Chief Minister Raghubar Das, is the BJP candidate.

Purnima Das Sahu, along with other family members, recently had met Amarpreet Singh Kale to seek his blessing for the election. Kale offered his support and extended his best wishes to her. Sources suggest that BJP’s national president, JP Nadda, had tasked senior leaders like Sarma to negotiate with opposition members within the party to ensure a united front ahead of the elections.
