Jamshedpur, March 8: The Asmita Women Badminton League 2025 commenced at Mohan Ahuja Badminton Stadium, JRD Sports Complex, under the joint aegis of Khelo India and Jharkhand State Badminton Association. The tournament features competitions in the Girls Under-17, Girls Under-19, and Senior Women categories.

The event was inaugurated by Somendra Sharma from the Sports Authority of India, who encouraged the participants by sharing inspirational stories from his sporting journey. He also lauded K. Prabhakar Rao, Secretary of the Jharkhand Badminton Association, for his efforts in promoting badminton in the state.

A total of 50 players from various districts of Jharkhand are competing in the tournament. Gunjan Baluni, Observer from the Badminton Association of India, has arrived from Delhi for the event. Also present were Vivek Sharma, Senior Coach at Tata Steel, and K. Prabhakar Rao, Chairman of Para Badminton India. The tournament will continue for four days.
