Jamshedpur, Dec 22: Ashok Modi won the Purvi Singhbhum Zila Marwari Sammelan (PSZMS) election for the p[ost of president by a margin of 115 votes. Out of 602 voters 428 exercised their franchise at the election held in the SCCI Bhawan on Tuesday, December 22. The voting which commenced at 10:30 am continued upto 4 pm. The first member to cast his vote was Sonari resident Dipak Parik. Senior member Ram Krishna Chowdhary popularly known as Biju Babu also cast his vote. Kadma resident Ashok Modi polled 224 votes followed by Shiv Prakash Sharma of Mango who bagged 109 votes and Kasidih’s Sanwarmal Agrawal who received 95 in his kitty. The chef electoral officer Murlidhar Kedia, deputy election officer Santosh Agrawal and state representative Bajranglal Agrawal and Vijay Khema were among the 12 member team who supervised the entire election process. A huge and expectant crowd was seen within and around the Chamber Bhawan awaiting the final results. Apart from Jamshedpur, other PSZMS members who voted today came from Dhalbhumgarh, Chakulia, Baharagora and Jadugoda.

Naresh Modi, Pankaj Chhavchharia, Suresh Kauntia, Kamal Agrawal, Sunny Sanghi, Arun Gupta, Kamal Naredi, Bablu Agrawal, Prakash Modi, Lakhan Lal Agrawal, Mahabir Agrawal, Santosh Agrawal, Amit Agrawal, Abhishek Agrawal, Guddu Sharma and Binod Mittal congratulated Ashok Modi on emphatic win.
