Jamshedpur, July 22: With Raksha Bandhan round the corner, SDSM School for Excellence organised annual rakhi making competition for the students of class 1 to 5.
The competition held in two groups aimed at enhancing the potential and exhibiting talent of students and to instill the virtues of love and harmony among the young. All the children participated with great zeal in the creative competition of rakhi making.
The competition saw a number of creative and colourful Rakhis being made by the students. The Rakhis resembled a fusion of modern with traditional style.
The competition was judged by Art & Craft Dept. Co-ordinator Suchita Basu on the basis of originality. The design was so creative and fascinating that it was very difficult to come out with a single winner list.
In group- I (STD.I TO III)-Ashka Kalindi of class 3 B was crowned the winner followed by Anjali Kumari of class 2 C and Samriddhi Jha of class 3 C. Astha Kumari of class 3 C won the consolation prize.
In group- II (STD.IV & V)-Ankit Ghosh of class 5 A was first, Rupinder Kour of class 5 B was second while Ratan of class 5 A bagged the third prize. Raj Biswas of class 5 B won the consolation prize. A special thanks to our Principal, Moushumi Das and Vice-Principal,

Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters symbolized by the tying of a holy thread Rakhi around the wrist of brothers.
