Kuala Lumpur, Nov 21 (IANS) Prime Minister Nrendra Modi said on Saturday, the first day of his visit to Malaysia and Singapore, that an Asean-India innovation platform will be set up for research and development.
�We will enlarge the Asean-India Science and Technology Development Fund from the current $1 million to $5 million,� Modi said in his address as the 13th Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-India Summit got underway here.
�We also intend to set set up an Asean-India Innovation Platform to facilitate commercialisation of low cost technologies, technology transfer and collaborative research and development,� he said.
Earlier on Saturday, Modi addressed the Asean Business and Investment Summit.
He will also attend the 10th East Asia Summit here on Sunday.
