Article 370: Jamshedpur celebrates Centre�s bold decision, terms it historic

Jamshedpur, Aug 5: Steel city residents celebrated the scrapping of Article 370 with fervour on Monday. People from various quarters termed the decision as historic and bold. Members of various political and social organizations hailed the Narendra Modi government and top security advisors of the government for the achievement.

Both common man as well as intellectuals said the scrapping of the Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir was necessary for putting an end to terrorism in Kashmir. They said the people of the country were long waiting for this day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have done what many governments did not dare to do, they said.

State Minister and AJSU MLA Ramchandra Sahis said, �PM Modi has taken a bold step and a historic decision. Now the national flag will be hoisted in Jammu and Kashmir like other parts of the country. This will promote national unity and peace.�

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha general secretary Abhay Singh congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for revoking Article 370. He said all people, irrespective of their political inclinations, should welcome this decision in the larger national interest.

�If the Central government takes a decision for the unity and integrity of the country, we all should laud it and accept it for our better future. This year�s Independence Day celebrations will mean that we have resolved the long-pending Kashmir issue to a great extent. Hence we all should rise above petty politics,� he said.

District AJSU Party president Kanhaiya Singh said the party was proud to have witnessed the scrapping of Article 370. He said the decision would go a long way in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir and its people. He said PM Modi had once again proved that he was capable of taking bold and crucial decisions. He said AJSU Party supported such decisions aimed at strengthening national unity and integrity.

AJSU Party district spokesperson Appu Tiwary said the government had dealt a blow on terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Antar-rashtriya Vaisya Mahasammelan general secretary Srikant Dev said the Modi government had freed the people of Jammu and Kashmir from the shackles of Article 370.

BJP social media in-charge and convenor Tanvir Hasan said now the issues of terrorism and separatism would be solved in Jammu and Kashmir.
