Arsenal wins APR Nair Memorial Football Tournament

Jamshedpur, Sept 10: Arsenal team clinched the title at the APR Nair Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Mango Welfare Society on Wednesday to mark the death anniversary of APR Nair. The one-day tournament witnessed spirited competition among nine participating teams. Arsenal emerged as the winner, while Mohammedan Sporting Junior secured the runner-up spot. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up was awarded Rs 3,500 and a trophy. The event was inaugurated by JSA Assistant Secretary Rohit Singh and former Jharkhand Santosh Trophy captain Md Shafiq. Social worker Dr. Afroz Shakeel presented the prizes. The programme was attended by Shahid Akhtar, Zafir Anwar, Shariq Mohammad, Jayesh Tripathi and others.
