Jamshedpur, Jan 2: Telco resident Inam Ali, who helped wanted criminal Abdul Majeed Kutty, a close aide of notorious fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim, to stay in Jamshedpur under a fake name and passport is a relative of former Siwan MP Mohammed Shahabuddin currently in jail.
Inam Ali, a resident of Barinagar under Telco thana , has been arrested by Mango thana and his mobile and passport have been seized on Friday for his role in arranging fake passport and misguiding police verification of Abdul Majeed Kutty, who was arrested by the Gujarat ATS team on December 25 from Mango in Jamshedpur in connection with the Arms Act case and Explosive case lodged in Mehsana thana in Gujarat in 1996.
During police investigation it has come to light that Inam Ali is a native of Siwan district of Bihar and is a relative of former MP Mohammed Shahabuddin
Significantly, Abdul Majeed had been staying in Jamshedpur since June 19, 2019 under a fake name in Telco and then earlier this year took on rent a duplex in Sahara City in Mango under a false name and identity proof and was staying with his wife and children. During interrogation Abdul Majeed took the name of Inam Ali.
According to East Singhbhum SSP M. Tamilvanan, thereafter they started probing into the activities of Inam Ali and found that he had helped Abdul Majeed both in Telco and in Mango, despite knowing his association with gangsters like Dawood Ibrahim and Abu Salem. He helped Abdul Majeed in making a fake passport on the basis of a fake Aadhar card and gave false information to police to hide the identity of Abdul Majeed during police verification.
