Army exhibits Military Weapons and Equipment as 2-day camp concludes

Jamshedpur, July 16: In an attempt to boost the image of the Army and exhibit military grade arms & ammunitions among school students two day Army Mela put up Army Camp in Sonari concluded on Saturday.

As part of event on Friday, a combined programme by the Symphony Sikhs & Meher Regiment was held among august gathering.

The event started at 9am and soon it witnessed a huge gathering of school students and parents. The display was inaugurated by Col. Saurav Sharma, Commanding Officer by blowing a bugle followed by a band rhythm.

The event was organised as a joint venture of the 891 field regiment and former soldier council. Students from DAV Public School (Bistupur), KPS (Mango), Women�s College (Bistupur) and KPS (Burmamines) attended the exhibition.

The 891 Field Regiment in association with Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad displayed an exciting collection of artillery and weapons at the Sonari army camp for the city to know the Indian Army better.

The mela seeks to motivate young minds to join the Indian army, Army sources said. The arms on display included Parachute motor display, Guns, Small Carbine, Insas rifles, light machine guns as well as Pipe Band and Communication Equipment.

Among the wide range of display was the recce or reconnaissance vehicle that is used to gather information outside friendly areas. The three-seater vehicle has facilities like ammunition box, medium-range gun, radio and self-recovery tools.

Sushil Singh, Utpal Sinha, Satyendra Singh, Avdhesh Kumar, Siddhanath Singh, Manoj Thakur, Rajiv Ranjan, Manoj Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Jitendra Shukla, Surender Ojha, U.K.Das, Lalan Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Abhay Singh, Umesh Sharma, Rajdev Singh and other member�s presence made the event a success.
