Jamshedpur, Sept 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, simultaneously flagged off nine Vande Bharat Express trains on various routes including on the much awaited Ranchi-Howrah circuit.

The Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express that left Ranchi at 12:30 pm arrived at Tatanagar Junction at 5:10 pm where, among others, it was received by Central Minister Arjun Munda, Member of Parliament Bidyut Baran Mahato, former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, and MLA Mangal Kalindi. The train, later, was flagged off for Haldia by central Minister Arjun Munda at 5:52 pm. Railway officials and employees and BJP workers were also present during the event.

However, the occasion witnessed some hassles as BJP workers raised slogans in support of the party and party leaders continuously for 15 minutes in spite of repeated requests to maintain calm and a peaceful atmosphere. With requests being ignored, the District Magistrate took charge over the microphone and after repeated requests to the BJP workers to quieten down, ultimately warned that the programme would have to be called off if they failed to comply with the request.
