Jamshedpur: Former Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda was acquitted in a case of violation of Model Code of Conduct by a local court on Wednesday.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Piyush Kumar acquitted Munda, who was personally present in court during the final hearing.
Munda, who was a BJP candidate from the Jamshedpur Parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha election of 2009, was accused of violating the code of conduct after his poster was found pasted in a mini-bus without permission, said Devendra Singh, a lawyer and former Jharkhand state president of BJP (legal cell) said.
The BJP leader arrived at the Jamshedpur court with his supporters and lawyer a little before the hearing was about to begin.
