Are the skill development and industrial training department unemployed?

By Priyanka Saurabh

Our Prime Minister Modi has recently talked about self-reliant India and has passed the budget of billions. The road to self-sufficient India goes through the skill development and industrial departments of all the states which train the youth for new tasks. Today, during the Corona era, this department can train youth and make them employable, so why the central and state governments are not paying attention to this department along with Haryana and other state governments.

Thousands of youth of B.Tech and M.Tech in Haryana are under stress nowadays. Two years ago, after long years of waiting, the Haryana government started the recruitment process for these two talented ITI Instructor posts under the Skill Development and Industrial Department of the Haryana Government. After the untiring efforts of the youth, the government conducted a written examination for these posts. These exams conducted for various trades lasted for about a month.

The youngsters, dreaming of a golden future, prepared themselves overnight and wrote their papers after going thirsty for a month, two hundred and three hundred kilometers away from home. After a long wait, the result of this recruitment examination was released. Before the corona, Haryana Staff Selection Commission also called the applicants to Panchkula for verification of documents for a few trades. But after the month of March, the Haryana Government did not take any cognizance of this recruitment. Candidates who pass the recruitment exam are now in shock. They are worried about the future. Most of these youngsters are aged 2530 who did intermediate with science stream first and B.Tech and M.Tech thereafter. Did a long study and the family members spend lakhs of rupees on them? But today, they are eating rate by rate to maintain their daycare. They are old enough to get married and settle down, but how can they run his life with his life partner.

After all, what game is the government playing with them now?. Does Modi’s self-reliant India only become the headlines of papers and social media? If this is not the case, then the government of Haryana, which leads progressive states in the whole country, should train its youth through skill development and the industrial department. Recently Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said that the revenue during the corona in Haryana has increased compared to the country, so why is the Haryana government postponing the government recruitment by making an excuse for the budget. If this happens, the unemployed youth here will either walk on the path of suicide or they will start the movement against the government.

Skill Development and Industrial Department is new hope in the present era. The vacancy of posts like ITI Instructor in this department is a big question in itself. Secondly, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said that he will bear the cost of competitive exams for the youth of the state. If the recruitment did not come out and did not complete, then what is the rationale for such announcements.

The Haryana government closed the process of scrutiny of ITI Instructor recruitment documents due to the lockdown being implemented nationwide due to the Corona epidemic. The process is not restarted after the lockdown is removed. Now the youth have said that the government has also said that now people will have to live with Corona. Admission in ITI has started in this department in July-August. Youths from across the state have submitted a memorandum from MPs to the state Chief Minister Manohar Lal and demanded that the recruitment process be completed soon. If this is happening then what is the government doing on its own?

Not only Haryana, the lack of staff in the skill development and industrial department and education-health department across the country is a matter of concern for the country, for these three departments, but the central government should also make recruitment every year and complete it in the same year so that the youth can get training and education and the people can get the services smoothly. In a state like Haryana, unemployment of B.Tech and M.Tech pass youth is a question mark on the working style of the government here. After spending so much, they reach here by working hard with young aspirations. If the state government cannot get them employed in their departments and companies, then they should stop these B.Tech and M.Tech courses.

Skill development and the industrial department to be unemployed is like to be unemployed for the entire state, our Prime Minister should take this subject seriously, otherwise, his plan of self-reliant India will die in his infancy. In the country and state where such important posts will be lying vacant for the last ten years, what kind of training and self-reliance should you think about?
