Jamshedpur, Nov 19: The APR Nair Inter-School Cricket Tournament, organized by the Aman Welfare Association, will begin on December 15 at Mango Gandhi Ground. The announcement was made by organizing committee chairmen Dr. Afroz Shakeel and Dr. Pratish Rahi during a press conference on Wednesday.
A total of 32 school teams from across the district, including Ghatsila and Chakulia, will participate in the month-long tournament. This edition will also feature a girls’ category, with eight teams competing. All matches will be played using tennis-ball cricket.
The winning team will receive a cash prize along with the APR Nair Trophy, while the runner-up and third-place teams will also be awarded cash prizes and trophies. In addition, individual awards will be given to players for outstanding performances.
Only school teams are eligible to participate, and entry to the tournament is free. Each match will consist of 10 overs, and considering school timings, only one match will be played each day.
Mohammed Tahir Husain, Rafat Ara, and Ali Raza were also present at the press conference.
