Apex Corporation Jamshedpur Promotes Better Compressor Room Practices

Jamshedpur, June 24: Apex Corporation, the authorised distributor of Atlas Copco, conducted a week-long Compressor Service Camp across Jharkhand in June to inspect industrial compressors and compressed air systems. During the campaign, company engineers identified poor compressor room housekeeping and inadequate ventilation as common issues at many industrial sites.

As part of the initiative, Apex service engineers visited customer locations and carried out health checks of compressors, dryers, and related compressed air equipment. During the inspections, they found that many compressor rooms were being used as storage areas for cartons, scrap materials, lubricants, chemicals, and other equipment. In several cases, ventilation openings were partially blocked, restricting airflow around compressors.

According to company officials, poor housekeeping and inadequate ventilation can increase ambient temperatures, cause dust accumulation, reduce efficiency, raise energy consumption, and lead to higher maintenance costs. Proper ventilation is essential for removing heat generated during compressor operations and ensuring equipment functions within recommended temperature limits.

The company also distributed housekeeping guidelines and conducted awareness sessions on best practices, including maintaining clear ventilation paths, preventing oil and water accumulation, ensuring proper drainage, and avoiding unnecessary storage inside compressor rooms.

Apex Corporation officials said that good housekeeping is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to improve compressor reliability, reduce downtime, lower operating costs, and extend equipment life. The company said it will continue supporting industries across Jharkhand through such awareness initiatives.
