Jamshedpur: Continuing its 24-year legacy of humanitarian service, Anurag Foundation organized a specialized medical check-up camp for children battling thalassemia on April 25, 2026. Held at the AIWC premises, the initiative reinforced the NGO’s commitment to providing comprehensive and consistent healthcare to over 85 registered children in the region.
Expert Medical Guidance
The camp featured Dr. Prashant Choudhury, a renowned haematologist from Kolkata and a long-standing collaborator with the Foundation. Dr. Choudhury conducted detailed reviews of blood reports and monitored the clinical progress of the children. His regular visits to Jamshedpur serve as a vital lifeline for families, offering expert guidance on managing the condition and navigating the complexities of long-term thalassemia care.
A Holistic Support System
Since its inception in 2002, Anurag Foundation has acted as a primary support pillar for affected families by providing:
- Free Blood Transfusions: Ensuring timely access to life-saving procedures.
- Essential Medicines: Distributing critical medication at no cost to the parents.
- Regular Health Monitoring: Organizing specialized camps to track holistic well-being.
Community Collaboration
The event saw active participation from the Foundation’s leadership, including President Vijaylaxmi Das, alongside dedicated members such as Mrs. Mrudula Raje, Mrs. Navita Prasad, and others. The Foundation also extended its gratitude to AIWC for providing the venue and supporting the cause of thalassemia awareness and treatment.
