Gamharia, August 3: In accordance with the directive SP Dr Vimal Kumar, an anti-crime checking campaign has been launched across the Saraikela-Kharsawan district. All police stations have launched anti-crime campaign under their respective command areas.
As part of this initiative, on Thursday, an inspection drive was conducted near Gamharia Lal Building Chowk by the Adityapur police led by OC Rajan Kumar. During the drive, two-wheeler riders were checked for helmets, licenses, and necessary vehicle documents. Several youths riding without helmets were caught during this campaign, and they were given a warning along with a chance to properly heed traffic norms. They were cautioned about the consequences of riding without helmets in future. The boots of many vehicles were opened to check for arms. Some vehicles were stopped on the Tata-Kandra main road for overloading, and the erring drivers were warned and let off. Drivers of passenger vehicles and passengers sitting on the roofs of such vehicles were warned and dispersed after issuing advisories. The Adityapur Station in-charge stated that such campaigns would continue to control criminal incidents and road accidents. The surprise checking drive at Lal Building Chowk led to a sense of alarm among vehicle drivers.
