Jamshedpur, April 24: For the first time during the second COVID-19 wave in Jamshedpur, daily positive tally touched an all-time high on Saturday. City reported 16 deaths on Saturday. Jamshedpur recorded 870 fresh cases on Saturday while 368 people recovered of the virus on April 24.
With the fresh cases, Steel City’s positive cases tally has mounted to 6468, according to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Saturday evening.
With 16 fatalities due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, the death toll has climbed to 523.
The positivity rate rose to 3.96 per cent in Jamshedpur.
The cumulative coronavirus case count stands at 28857 and the death count is now 523, according to the latest health bulletin.
The new cases came out of the 3890 tests conducted on Saturday.
Of the 870 new cases, 793 are from Jamshedpur urban area, 30 from Dumaria, 24 from Ghatsila, 12 from Musabani, 7 from Dhalbhumgarh and 4 from Patamda.
There are 6468 active COVID-19 cases in Jamshedpur.
As many as 21866 people have recovered from COVID-19 so far with 368 recoveries recorded in the last 24-hours. Over 3500 COVID-19 tests, including 1684 RT-PCR and 1871 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 273877 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur has dropped down to 78.13 % while the mortality rate is 1.81%.
So far in Jamshedpur 739690 samples have been collected out of which 729061 have been tested and 700204 have turned out to be negative.
