Selected as an officer in the Indian Army
Jamshedpur: Ankita Yadav has brought immense pride to Jharkhand by securing All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination. Ankita, the daughter of Shri J.D. Yadav, Head Cashier at the Bank of India’s Tamilia branch, claimed a prestigious officer’s position in the Indian Army. This feat honours her community and the entire state.
Ankita will soon travel to Chennai to begin her rigorous military training. Upon the successful completion of her course, she will receive a commission as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. This appointment marks the beginning of her official journey in fulfilling the critical responsibility of national service.
Recognition of Merit and Parental Support
The Women’s Wing of the All India Yadav Mahasabha, led by Anita Yadav, joined the Military Matrushakti of Jamshedpur to honor Ankita for her historic achievement. During a dedicated ceremony, the organizations also presented traditional stoles to her parents. This gesture recognized that a child’s success stems largely from the immense sacrifices and unwavering support of their family.
Ankita’s relentless hard work and dedication have illuminated the name of her family and society throughout Jharkhand. Notably, she stands as the first female candidate from the region to reach this rank through this specific selection process.

This remarkable milestone has created an atmosphere of celebration and pride among her friends, family, and neighbors. Her success serves as a profound source of inspiration, particularly for young women across the region who aspire to serve in the armed forces.
To mark this achievement, supporters organized a felicitation ceremony and sweets distribution program on March 24 at Shrishti Garden, located near Vijaya Garden in Jamshedpur. A large gathering of prominent citizens, public representatives, and media members attended the event to offer their congratulations.
Organizers including Anita Yadav, Poonam Devi, Sulochana Yadav, Aarti Yadav, Ramnandan, Varun Kumar, and Mohan Yadav invited well-wishers to witness this proud moment. They offered blessings to Ankita as she prepares for her upcoming military career in Chennai.
