Jamshedpur, Jan 13: Animal Welfare Fortnight is celebrated across India every year from January 14th to 30th to generate awareness among the public about the humane treatment of animals and for prevention of unnecessary pain and suffering to them.
To fulfill above motto, various events are organized across the country during this period to generate more empathy and action for animals through informative and useful programs.
Tata Steel Zoological Park in association with Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Jamshedpur has planned to celebrate a series of events during the fortnight.
The celebration will commence with an inaugural function followed by scheduled programme as follows inaugural function on Tuesday, January 14.
Chief Guest for the function will be Shri Satyajit Singh, I.F.S, Conservator of Forest, Jamshedpur while P.R. Prasad, Secretary,Tata Steel Zoological Society, Jamshedpur will be present as Guest of Honour. Prof (Dr.) Kishore Oza, Animal Welfare activist will be speaker of the day. A day in the Zoo with students from Madrasa on Tuesday, Prabhat Pheri (Animal welfare awareness walk) which will be flagged off by K.Z.Bhutia, Divisional Forest Officer, Jamshedpur on Thursday, January 16. 24th Zoo foundation day will also be celebrated.
On Saturday, January 25 Inter school on the spot Essay writing competition will be organized while on Thursday, January 30 Inter school on the spot Slogan writing competition will be held and Prize distribution and Closing ceremony will be organised by SPCA, Jamshedpur on Jan 30.
