Jamshedpur: The ADL Society in Kadma and Andhra Bhakt Shri Ram Mandir in Bistupur were the venues where Andhra Divas was celebrated today. Rich tributes were paid to Shri Ramulu who was martyred during the movement for a separate Andhra Pradesh state.
ADL Society general secretary Majji Ravi Kumar informed that Andhra Divas was celebrated in the traditional way at the new school building in Kadma. After the ritualistic worship of Lord Ganesh, a cultural program was presented.
The cultural events commenced with Ganesh Vandana that included a song and dance recital. A popular musical team from Kakinada, Ganesh Orchestra captivated the audience with their performance.
Andhra Bhakt Shri Ram Mandiram Committee president CH Shankar Rao stated that Andhra Divas saw people since early morning queuing up to offer floral tributes in front of the portrait of Potti Ramalu as a mark of respect on the revolutionary�s martyrdom.
Both the venues attracted large crowds.
