Jamshedpur: Anand Sen, president (TQM and Steel Business) Tata Steel inaugurated a Metallography Laboratory as a part of joint initiative of The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter and Tata Steel Ltd. to extend support to the students of Associate Membership Examination of IIM (AMIIM), metallurgical engineers of different companies in and around Jamshedpur for enhancement of their knowledge and expertise in the area of Physical Metallurgy.
The event took place at Employees Training Centre of Shavak Nanavati Technical Institute (SNTI).
Sen emphasised that the Jamshedpur Chapter of the Indian Institute of Metals should continue such efforts and necessary cooperation will always be there from Tata Steel Ltd.
During interaction with him, the aspirant AMIIM students conveyed that this sort of facility will help them immensely to grasp the subject in a better way.
It may also be mentioned that the initiative of E- Learning as well as interaction sessions with specialists has gained a huge popularity amongst the student fraternity in the area of metallurgy and materials science.
The current initiatives chapter being unique in nature, it has received immense appreciation from all corners together with the Best Chapter Award (2013) amongst the larger chapter in the country by The Indian Institute of Metals.
