Jamshedpur, Dec. 29: Second Amrendra memorial blood donation camp was held at Tatanagar railway institute in Railway Colony on Tuesday.
The camp witnessed crowd rush since morning as people were eager to donate their blood. Till late in the evening a total of 163 units of blood were collected.
Chief Guest for the occasion was City Superintendent of Police, Chandan Jha. Addressing the gathering he said, every blood donor is a hero and these heroes work unpaid and volunteer to give their blood, playing a pain for this noble cause.
A senior railway official said, there is need to build a blood bank either in Tatanagar, Chakradharpur or Bandamunda so that railway employees can get blood as and when required at the earliest.
At the event Railway employee and writer KK Singh�s thirteen books were also unveiled which received quite a lot of praise. Another senior official of CKP division said that of the 163 blood units collected, 100 would be taken to Garden Reach in Kolkata which would help the employees working there.
The event was hosted by Union member Shashi Mishra where employees and officers of Garden Reach, Chakradharpur and Tatanagar.
