Ranchi, Sept. 13: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that there is ample potential in textile sector in the state. With the availability of a committed labour force, this sector can create a lot of employment opportunities in the state. He said that local people should be made skilled and brought into the sector.
Addressing representatives of Orient Craft on Tuesday, the CM said that the government will extend full support to the scheme. In the meeting, it was decided that Orient Craft will establish its unit in Ranchi. The construction of the unit is expected to start in March.
The CM further said that the government was also planning to construct a Textile Park in the state. He said the company will train rural youths and give them employment. In the beginning, migration- affected districts will be taken up for training local youths.
Training will be started in Gumla, Dumka, Khunti and Simdega in the first phase. The company is running a three month course at a training center in Lohardaga.
Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to CM Sanjay Kumar, Building Construction Secretary K. K. Son, Secretary to CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal, company CMD Sudhir Dhingra and Nandana along with other officers were present on this occasion.
