Home Minister to also attend BJP’s Core Committee meeting

Chaibasa, Jan 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be addressing a grand gathering of BJP workers during the Vijay Sankalp Maha Rally at Tata College Maidan in Chaibasa tomorrow. He will also address a meeting of BJP’s Lok Sabha Core Committee.

State administration here completed all arrangements to welcome the Home Minister. West Singhbhum district administration has made elaborate security arrangements for the VVIP visit. In view of the Maoist violence threat, the administration has made foolproof and multi-layer security arrangements, sources said.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ananya Mittal and Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar jointly reviewed the security arrangements and briefed the police personnel and magistrates on the eve of Shah’s arrival in Chaibasa. Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar and DIG of Kolhan Ajay Linda also briefed district officials on security arrangements.

Almost all senior BJP leaders of Jharkhand are camping in Chaibasa. More than 1.5 lakh party workers are expected to attend the programme. BJP workers from East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and West Singhbhum will be attending the Maha Rally which is being seen as party’s preparation for the Lok Sabha elections due next year.

Sources said as many as 250 magistrates have been deputed at the programme venue. Officials are taking special care of parking and traffic arrangements to make sure the programme is held in a hassle-free manner.

According to the SP, all main streets of Chaibasa would be under constant and tight vigil of police and paramilitary forces.
