Always follow the rulebook in poll-related work: DC

Jamshedpur, Sept: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla addressed the maiden training programme for the sector officers of all Assembly constituencies of the district at Michael John Auditorium, Bistupur, on Friday. He said all sector officials are expected to follow the rule book in election-related matters to avoid discrepancies. He said the tasks given to the officials should be completed within the deadline fixed for it by the Election Commission of India.

Shukla said there would be separate observers for every Assembly constituency and therefore the reports should be prepared by the sector officers accordingly as the same would be examined minutely.

The DC directed all sector officers to conduct physical verification of all polling booths by 2^nd October. The reports of verification should be submitted by 7^th October, he said.

Shukla said the sector officers should inspect all polling booths to make sure that all basic amenities are available for voters and poll duty staff. The amenities include toilet, power connection, ramp and furniture.

The DC said all officials should study EVM manual before the elections.
