Akshay Booshanam shines at Commonwealth Karate Championships

New Delhi, Sep15: Akshay Mahara Booshanam won silver medal in the individual category and bronze medal in the group category at the 10th Commonwealth Karate Championships 2022 held at the University of Birmingham recently.

21-year-old is double Black Belt Holder (2nd Level Black Belt) and ranked 5th in Asia and 14th in the World in U21 category in 2021-2022.

Akshay is Bachelors in computer applications (BCA) and is currently pursuing MBA from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.

Son of father KR Mahara Booshanam and mother Lakshmi Mahara Booshanam, Akshay has many International, National and state-level achievements.

He secured gold medal at the KIO All India Karate Championship, 2022. He bagged gold and bronze Medals at the AIU All India University Games, 2021. Native of Tirunelveli district is Tamil Nadu, Akshay won two bronze medals at Khelo India University Games, 2021 at Bengaluru.
