Jamshedpur : Two goals by Akansh Thakor powered Sri Krishna Public School (SKPS) to a thumping 5-0 victory over Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) while Faheem Ahmand�s double helped Andhra Association English School down Blue Bells English High School 3-0 in the junior boys� league of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Wednesday.
Akansh scored in the 17th and 35th minutes while teammate Arbaaz Khan scoring another in the 29th minute to put Sri Krishna Public School 3-0 ahead by halftime. Chirga Jha (37th) and Subham Kumar Mishra (40th) swelled the lead to complete an easy victory over KSMS at Tinplate Sports Complex.
Sri Krishna�s win was the biggest on a day of low-scoring games.
However, the most entertaining and closely fought match of the day was played between Shyama Prasad School and SS Plus2 High School at the Armoury Ground. The match ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to Jagmohan Hembram�s double strike in the dying minutes of the game that put paid to SS� hopes of a victory.
Budhu Majhi put SS ahead in the 27th minute of the match and they maintained the lead throughout the first half. Teammate Budhram Hembram extended the lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute.
But SP�s last match hero Jagmohan turned the game on its head with back-to-back goals in the 54th and 56th minutes to force a draw.
Dakshin Bharat Mahila Sangh (DBMS) High School edged past Little Flower School, Telco 1-0 in a senior boys� league match at Armoury Ground. Shree Prakash scored the only goal of the match in the 39th minute.
In other junior boys� league matches, Xavier School downed Jamshedpur Ucch Vidyalay 1-0 through a fourth minute goal by Ashish Kumar while NML-Kerala Public School beat Gulmohar High School 1-0 through a goal by Indrajeet Kumar in the 9th minute at the Tinplate Sports Complex.
