Jamshedpur, Aug 18: Members of AJSU Chhatra Sangh stopped a bus carrying Kolhan University staff from Graduate School College for Women and staged a demonstration to protest delay in Chhatra Sangh elections here on Thursday.
Leading the agitation, the outfit’s Kolhan unit president Hemant Pathak said, “We are protesting against the inordinate delay on part of the university to conduct Chhatra Sangh elections which are pending since 2018. Whenever we tried to speak to the Registrar of Kolhan University regarding the elections, he said he had forgotten it. Through this demonstration, we want to remind the university officials of their responsibility to conduct the students’ union elections.”
Pathak and other students said the university could not back out from its responsibility. He said the various students’ unions were united on the issue of holding the Chhatra Sangh elections as early as possible. The Chhatra Sangh members stopped the bus carrying college staff for KU by sitting before it around 8.45 am. They sat on the road and were removed only after one hour
