Jamshedpur: An AJSU delegation led by its district president Kanhaiya Singh met DSP (Traffic) and handed him a charter of demands against heavy vehicles parked on the main thoroughfares creating congestions and accident hazards. The delegation requested the DSP to take appropriate steps to curb such parking so that commuters could breathe easy.

The CoD submitted by the AJSU delegation pointed out that busy thoroughfares along Marine Drive, RD Tata via Sunsunia to TRF Gate, from JEMCO to Lafarge Gate, Mango Bus Stand to Bagunhatu Chowk, Cable Co Gate to Tube Gate via Nildih and the Cummins Gate to Lafarge Gate were congested due to unauthorized parking of heavy vehicles.

The AJSU CoD also stated that most of these heavy vehicles were without the services of handymen and suggested that all relevant papers of these vehicles be checked. It also stated that No Entry timings for heavy vehicles should be strictly adhered to. The two-wheeler riders, especially those moving along with their families should not be humiliated during the course of helmet checking.
If no action was taken to ease the traffic problems, the AJSU would have no other option but to take to the road and resort to lawful action.

The delegation included Sanjay Malakar, Kamlesh Dubey, Appu Tiwary, Samresh Singh, Manik Mallick, Sonu Singh, Md Sajjad Khan, OP Rai, Vinay Singh, Pratik Saraf, Putul Singh, Dipak Pandey and Shubham Singh.
