Jamshedpur:A party workers’ conference was organized by All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU)’s women wing, Akhil Jharkhand Mahila Samiti, in the city here on Sunday.
The state convenor of the committee Violet Kachhap said the main purpose of the conference was to make women more aware of their rights and also empower them. She said that aware and empower women could put the society, state and country on the path of rapid progress.
Kachhap further said that women had changed their traditional outlook these days. She said women should be given 50 per cent reservation in all jobs whether government or private. She said that poor women should be given compensation in case of death during work.
Many resolutions were passed during the conference including proposals for providing a modern residential colony to women displaced in anti-encroachment campaigns, providing 33 per cent reservation to women in politics, free education facility for women in government and private educational institutions till graduation, ensuring participation of women in tourism industry and passing special laws for the safety of women.
