Jamshedpur, July 3: Seraikela Kharsawan police arrested Ajsu central committee member Harelal Mahato who was a candidate for Ichagarh assembly constituency on Ajsu ticket in the 2019 assembly polls but lost.
The arresting was done at Digha in West Bengal as he had a warrant issued from Ichagarh thana in connection with the assault on police party which had gone to check violation of Covid lockdown by the villager in organising a fair at Nimdih.
Harelal was sen to judicial custody after medical examination.
According to reports, Harelal had changed his SIM and was staying in hiding at Digha.
